PCOR Phase I Wrap-Up/Phase II Kickoff Meeting Summary

Meeting Summary
The PCOR Partnership Phase I Wrap-Up/Phase II Kickoff Meeting was held at the Xcel Energy Corporate Headquarters November 1-2, 2005, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The meeting had a great turn out, with 75 attendees. Registrants represented 12 states, the District of Columbia, and four provinces. Meeting Overview (Agendas and evening events)

Conference Background
The PCOR Partnership program has successfully completed Phase I and is launching its 4-year, multimillion dollar program focused on field demonstrations. The 2-year Phase I effort resulted in five fact sheets, a public television program entitled "Nature in the Balance - CO2 Sequestration," a PCOR Partnership Atlas, and over 20 topical reports and has laid a firm foundation for Phase II CO2 sequestration field validation projects in the PCOR Partnership region. The 4-year Phase II program is poised to demonstrate the efficacy of CO2 sequestration in a variety of subsurface and terrestrial settings.

The two day meeting provided our partners with a summary of Phase I results and a refresher on Phase II validation test plans. The interactive format allowed partners to views on the evolving world of carbon management and the PCOR Partnership’s Phase II efforts. The full partnership will be invited to come together again in the fall of 2006 to review the first year of Phase II and to discuss upcoming activities.
