The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and stakeholders in the Red River of the North Basin teamed to form the Red River Water Management Consortium (RRWMC®) in 1996 to resolve water supply, flood protection, and water quality issues in the basin.

The RRWMC Program
The RRWMC Program has established a partnership between its members-representing industry, municipalities, and other interested entities-and state and federal governments to address critical issues that may impact the water resources of the region.

The RRWMC Members
The RRWMC Members direct the development of annual work plan activities in the following areas: 1) technology assessment, development, and demonstration; 2) water resource assessment and analysis; 3) anthropogenic impacts on water resources; 4) water resource monitoring; 5) education and information dissemination; and 6) development of a watershed management conceptual model and strategy.

Current Members

The overall goal of the program is to provide practical stakeholder-driven technical input for the development of a long-term watershed management strategy focusing on water quantity and quality to ensure continued economic development of the area.
